Flying Orlando → Malé at the front of the plane
Booked well, Orlando to Malé in First Class is not an indulgence so much as arithmetic: a flat bed out of Orlando International Airport (MCO), hours of genuine sleep, and a first day in Malé you don't lose to recovery.
The absence of a nonstop First Class product here is an opportunity in disguise: a one-stop on Emirates, Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways adds a world-class lounge visit mid-journey and frequently prices better than direct premium alternatives.
Orlando's lounge scene serves its leisure mission — airline club lounges and strong contract facilities in the new Terminal C — but there is no flagship First Class lounge. The memorable ground experiences begin at the gateway: American's Flagship complex in Miami or the Emirates and Chelsea Lounges at JFK, both an easy hop from MCO.
December through April is the dry season — endless blue, calm seas, peak visibility for diving — and peak pricing, with Christmas and New Year the most expensive weeks in luxury travel, full stop. May through November brings the chance of afternoon showers but also emptier resorts, surf season, manta and whale-shark aggregations, and fares (air and villa alike) that soften by a third or more. For honeymoons, late April and early December thread the needle beautifully.
