The principle
Every fare we quote comes with its rules disclosed in writing before you pay — including whether it is refundable, what changes cost, and any airline penalties. No surprises after ticketing is the standard we hold ourselves to.
Refundable vs. non-refundable fares
Premium-cabin fares span a spectrum:
- Fully refundable fares: refunded to the original form of payment upon request, less any airline-imposed processing fee disclosed at booking.
- Partially refundable fares: refunded minus the airline's cancellation penalty stated in the fare rules.
- Non-refundable fares: the ticket value is typically retained as airline credit for future travel where the carrier allows, less applicable penalties.
Your advisor will always tell you which category a quote falls into before you commit — and when a modestly higher refundable fare is the wiser purchase, we say so.
How to request a refund or change
Contact your advisor directly, call +1 (877) 836-0819 (24/7), or email concierge@firstclasstravel.us with your confirmation number. We process eligible refund requests with the airline promptly; airlines typically return funds within 7–20 business days for card payments, and we track the request until it lands.
Airline-initiated changes & cancellations
If an airline cancels or significantly changes your flight, you are generally entitled to rebooking or a full refund under the airline's policy and applicable regulations — including U.S. DOT rules for flights to and from the United States. Your advisor handles this for you: we monitor every booking and will present your options, often before the airline notifies you.
Service fees
Where a separate service fee applies to a booking, it is disclosed before payment. Service fees are refundable if we are unable to secure your requested booking, and non-refundable once the ticket has been issued, except where required by law.
Travel insurance
For high-value First Class itineraries we recommend travel insurance with trip-cancellation coverage appropriate to your trip cost. Insurance can convert an otherwise non-refundable situation — illness, emergencies — into a covered claim. See our travel insurance guide or ask your advisor.
