Flying Orlando → Amsterdam at the front of the plane
The journey from Orlando to Amsterdam is exactly the kind of flight First Class was designed for: long enough to sleep properly, dine unhurried, and land at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) ready for the day.
Because no carrier flies true First Class nonstop on this pairing, the routing craft matters. British Airways, Air France, Lufthansa, SWISS and Delta Air Lines each offer superb one-stop itineraries through their hubs — often at fares below what a nonstop business seat would cost, with a lounge stop that feels like part of the vacation.
Orlando's lounge scene serves its leisure mission — airline club lounges and strong contract facilities in the new Terminal C — but there is no flagship First Class lounge. The memorable ground experiences begin at the gateway: American's Flagship complex in Miami or the Emirates and Chelsea Lounges at JFK, both an easy hop from MCO.
On timing: tulip season, from late March through mid-May, is the postcard window and prices like it — King's Day in late April sells out hotels a year ahead. June through August brings long northern evenings and canal-side terraces.
