Flying Las Vegas → Madrid at the front of the plane
Few pairings reward flying at the front of the plane like Las Vegas to Madrid. Departing from Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), you trade a long economy night for a suite, a proper meal, and arrival at Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD) actually rested.
The absence of a nonstop First Class product here is an opportunity in disguise: a one-stop on British Airways, Air France, Lufthansa and American Airlines adds a world-class lounge visit mid-journey and frequently prices better than direct premium alternatives.
Harry Reid International offers comfortable premium and club lounges, including strong contract facilities used by the international carriers, but no flagship First Class lounge. The elevated ground experience begins at your gateway — the Qantas First Lounge at LAX or the Emirates lounges on the coasts — which is another argument for the positioning strategy.
May, June, September, and October are Madrid at its best — warm evenings, full terraces, and the galleries uncrowded. July and August are punishingly hot, and much of the city's restaurant scene closes for parts of August. Winter is dry, bright, and excellent value, with First fares and five-star suites both noticeably softer. San Isidro festivities in mid-May tighten hotel availability.
