Flying Las Vegas → Mumbai at the front of the plane
The journey from Las Vegas to Mumbai is exactly the kind of flight First Class was designed for: long enough to sleep properly, dine unhurried, and land at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) ready for the day.
The absence of a nonstop First Class product here is an opportunity in disguise: a one-stop on Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways and SWISS adds a world-class lounge visit mid-journey and frequently prices better than direct premium alternatives.
Harry Reid International offers comfortable premium and club lounges, including strong contract facilities used by the international carriers, but no flagship First Class lounge. The elevated ground experience begins at your gateway — the Qantas First Lounge at LAX or the Emirates lounges on the coasts — which is another argument for the positioning strategy.
November through February is Mumbai at its finest — dry, relatively cool, and socially in full swing, with fares peaking over Diwali and the Christmas–New Year diaspora rush. The monsoon arrives emphatically from June through September; it has its own drama but disrupts plans, and premium fares fall accordingly. October and March are the underrated shoulders: good weather, gala calendars warming up, and noticeably easier First Class availability.
