# Lufthansa vs Air France: First Class compared

> Air France La Première is the more exclusive cabin and roughly twice the price: four suites per 777, now from seven US cities, published $22,000 to $40,000. Lufthansa First is the value play at $12,000 to $18,000, but it flies only to Munich and only from New York, Newark, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

## Verdict

La Première is the most exclusive cabin crossing the Atlantic and prices accordingly. Four suites per aircraft means genuine scarcity, and the Charles de Gaulle ground experience, met curbside, escorted through a private channel, driven to the aircraft, is unmatched by any European competitor. Air France also widened the product sharply through 2026: Atlanta from 29 March, Houston from 6 July, and a redesigned suite that reached San Francisco on 14 August.

Lufthansa answers with arithmetic and a caveat. At $12,000 to $18,000 published and negotiated fares from about $6,500, it is one of the deepest-discounting First products to Europe. But the map narrowed: Lufthansa First from the United States is now a Munich story only, from New York, Newark, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Chicago to Munich carries no First cabin, and neither does Frankfurt to Washington Dulles. If Munich works as your entry point, Lufthansa is the better buy; if it does not, Air France is the one with the network.
