# Emirates vs British Airways: First Class compared

> Emirates is the spectacle, British Airways is the value. Emirates flies A380 First with a Shower Spa and onboard lounge from around ten US cities at $14,000 to $24,000 published. BA serves about a dozen US cities to London from $9,000 to $16,000, the most attainable true First across the Atlantic.

## Where Emirates wins

- The A380 Shower Spa and onboard lounge have no equivalent on any BA aircraft
- Fully enclosed suites on the newest 777s, floor to ceiling
- Chauffeur service included on qualifying First fares at both ends

## Where British Airways wins

- Consistently the cheapest true First to Europe, negotiated from about $5,500
- The widest choice of US departure cities of any true First product to Europe
- The Concorde Room and First Wing at Heathrow Terminal 5, plus oneworld reach

## Verdict

These two answer different questions. If the flight is the point, Emirates wins without much argument: a shower at altitude, a bar to stand at, and a fourteen-suite A380 nose cabin that still draws stares. If the point is arriving in Europe having paid the least for a genuine First cabin, British Airways wins, and it is not close. BA negotiated fares regularly land near half of published, and London frequency means date flexibility pays off more here than with any competitor.

One caveat decides many BA bookings: which aircraft operates. The sliding-door First Suite flies on refreshed 777-300ERs and 787s, while the A380 and older 777s still carry the doorless 2010 cabin, with the A380 retrofit to a twelve-suite cabin running from 2026 into 2027. The A350-1000 has no First at all. Emirates has no equivalent lottery; its A380 and 777 First cabins are both current. Ask which frame is scheduled before you commit to BA.
